The Holding Space Birth & Wellness Cooperative provides health care, support and community.
THE HOLDING SPACE CELEBRATES
the LIFECYCLE of WOMEN
The Holding Space is a wellness hub for women and birthing families in our community, dedicated to providing evidence-based education and support surrounding transitional life events of puberty, childbirth, and menopause. It is a place where you can feel safe and heard.
Hi, Erin & Miranda here!
We are the founders of The Holding Space Birth and Wellness Cooperative, and we could not be more excited to bring you a community-led support environment for women and their families in Anacortes. We share a mutual passion for helping women in this community, especially through major life transitions. We met in 2020 when I (Erin) moved back to Anacortes and was seeking midwifery care for my second pregnancy. Miranda became my midwife and dear friend. Fast forward to the day my son was born… With Miranda on speakerphone coaching me, and my husband driving, I was able to deliver my own son in the front seat of our minivan! As two Navy veterans, Miranda and I figured if we can team up and thrive in high pressure situations like a precipitious birth, founding a non-profit should be no problem, right?!
