Meet the Board

Monika Rueb, RN

President

Monika Rueb has been a labor and delivery nurse at Island Hospital for three years. She graduated from the nursing program at Skagit Valley College in 2020 and then from the University of Washington in 2021 with her Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Prior to becoming a nurse, Monika worked as a doula for over a decade, supporting  hundreds of families as they made the transition into parenthood. Her passion for birth and women’s health was inspired by her own birth experience. The personal realization of the profound impact the birth experience has on a person inspires the care of her patients. She is excited to be a part of The Holding Space team and to continue empowering families through advocacy and education.
